Come and plant trees!
January 26 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
From the campaigning group 10:10…
Have you ever been flooded? I grew up in Gloucestershire, and the year I finished school most of homes around where I lived were full of water. Hardly anyone had power, and friends were coming over to use our shower.
People in Wolverley, Worcestershire have been flooded every few years for the last decade – watching their front rooms fill with water and saving what they can. In response, they’ve been working together to take action. This year, we’ve joined them – hatching a plan to plant hundreds of trees that will slow the flow of water in the village, and cut carbon while they do it.
In January, we’ll be working alongside hundreds of volunteers to get these trees in the ground. And we’d love you to join us!
I often get overwhelmed thinking about climate change. That’s why I’m really excited about planting trees in January – because trees are one of the solutions we can make happen. And if you’ve never planted a tree before, trust me it’s an amazing experience!
Not only will the trees we plant in Wolverley help protect the village from future flooding – they’ll play a part in tackling climate change too.
We’re inviting you to join one or both of our community planting days on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th January. If you’d like to come but can’t afford the travel, we have some bursaries available, so please get in touch.
Sign up below to get some more information about the day.
Looking forward to planting trees with you
