Are we returning gradually to ‘normal’ – the same normal that has left 14 million in UK below the poverty line and continues to fuel climate chaos and ecological destruction. Or can we do better? Join us at our AGM to hear Molly Scott Cato explore the possibilities which the Covid-19 pandemic has revealed for building a different world
Transition Exeter AGM What would it take to Build Back Better?
Online Talk with Q & A with Molly Scott Cato, professor of economics and former Green MEP for the South West Tuesday 9th June 7 pm
As industries and companies lobby for bailouts from government to help restore Business as Usual, Molly looks at what we’ve learnt from the pandemic and the opportunities for greening the economy and creating greater economic security for all during the post-Covid recovery.
We’ll also explore what can be done locally in Exeter to contribute to this and between 8-8.30 there will be a chance to learn more about the work of Transition Exeter and how to get involved.
Please join a few minutes early so that we can start at 7 pm. This is especially true if you have not used zoom before, and it will take a few minutes for software to download after clicking the link.
Transition Exeter AGM
This will follow Molly’s talk and Q & A. We do appreciate supporters’ suggestions and comments, and these have guided the past year’s activities, from public meetings, questioning elected office holders and promoting local food, to support for local councils responding to the Climate and Ecological Emergencies and tree- and orchard care.
