Exeter city electric bike scheme to expand into East Devon

  • by JW

Exeter’s on-street city electric bike hire scheme is set to expand into East Devon.

Councillors from Sidmouth, Axminster, Seaton and Honiton all said that they would like to see the scheme, which allows you to pay for and hire bikes by the hour, brought into their divisions.

Cllr Stuart Hughes, committee chairman, but also Devon County Council’s Cabinet Member for Highways with responsibility for cycling, said that he really welcomed the expansion of the scheme.

He added: “I think this is a cracking scheme and far superior to the Old Boris Bike scheme. I would like to see them in Sidmouth as well as a there a lot of hill, with it perhaps it being at the proposed park and change site.”

Now the Exeter city electric bike scheme will expand into East Devon.
