New free drop-in sessions every day 10am to 2pm Monday to Friday at the Hub on the High Street
.
There are a lot of services available in the Sid Valley – and a lot of need for them.
As Di Fuller of Sid Valley Help notes, writing in the latest Herald, there are some very helpful places to go as a first stop:
Sometimes people know where to get support, but other times, they do not know where to turn. Would you know where to go?
Sid Valley HELP provides a free and confidential information and signposting service to all types of health and care support and activities for all age groups. Phone us on 01395 892011 or email sidvalleyhelp@gmail.com or visit our website www.sidvalleyhelp.org.uk . Alternatively, you can seek information in the Sidmouth Hospice at Home Information Centre in the High Street.
The Sidmouth Hospice at Home Information Centre is invaluable – with this piece posted on their social media pages this weekend:
Over the past year or so, the way we use our Information Hub at 48 High Street in Sidmouth has evolved. It’s now a thriving resource for the whole community, and as well as being a wonderful resource for our own services, we are proud to be able to support Age UK Devon and Citizens Advice East Devon through giving them a space in Sidmouth to operate to provide their services.
As the picture shows, we’ve just done a little more to make it even more welcoming.
The ‘Hub’ is open 10am to 2pm Monday to Friday and is free for everyone to pop in and ask questions about our service, advice about where support can be sought more widely around health and wellbeing queries. You can also pop in to support us through volunteering your time or donating towards our Specialist Service.
You can drop in to see us about anything anytime we are open, and the timetable for more specific sessions at the ‘Hub’ is:
Mondays: IT and Digital Support Drop-in session for the over 50’s
Tuesdays: Citizens Advice East Devon
Wednesdays: Bereavement Support Drop-in session
Thursdays: General Information Drop-in and soon to be Dementia Friendly Sidmouth Drop-in
Fridays: Understanding Correspondence and Form Filling Assistance
Thank you to Signs South West and Sidmouth Print for your help in bringing this to being!
They are also on community social media where they are spreading that message: that Over the past year or so, the way we use our Information Hub at 48 High Street in Sidmouth has evolved
Back in 2020, Age Concern (now Age UK) had to leave their hub on the high street (now the Sidmouth Hospice at Home hub) – so it’s good to see them making a return.
And it’s also very welcoming to have free face-to-face help from Citizens Advice at the Sidmouth Hospice at Home hub once a week.
