With reference to the last newsletter, I have written to the full Executive Board of the EDDC asking them when and how they intend to fulfil their promise to set in motion a Design and Development Brief.
The Chair has written to their Legal Executive asking for clarification re the Drill Hall: ‘that the EDDC is actively pursuing the matter of the Covenant from the original donors of the Drill Hall.’
The Legal Executive has responded to the Chair saying, ‘The planning issues regarding the alternative site are being actively pursued.’ However, the issue that continues to be ignored is the historic Covenant of the donors of the Drill Hall made 110 years ago insisting it should revert to the Sidmouth UDC if the Territorial Army ceases to use it.
