23 June 2011 Message from the new VGS Chair Dave Bramley’s message as the new Chair of Vision Group for Sidmouth

Last night (22 June 2011) at our AGM, Robert Crick stood down as Chair and I was elected into the role.
Firstly I would like to thank Robert again for his charismatic and insightful leadership of the VGS over the last three years. Gladly Robert will remain as an active member.
As for me, I appreciate I have a very difficult act to follow but thought I would briefly set out some areas I wish to focus on as chair but look forward to any comments from you to help the VGS shape our agenda over the next year. They are:-
- continue to clarify and publicise the VGS work to seek more active membership
- make stronger links with like-minded groups in the area to avoid duplication
- support and encourage exemplar projects relating to the community’s vision for Sidmouth and Transition Town principles
