2014 Sidmouth Beach Management Plan: more delays feared

There have been several updates in the press of late…

The Herald has highlighted concerns from a former District Councillor and resident about the glacial pace of the Eastern Beach management plan:

Futures Forum: Sidmouth Beach Management Plan: “a waste of money” … ““It’s far better being spent now on putting some rocks round the bottom of Pennington Point and trying to stop some of the erosion.”

In the subsequent edition of the Herald, the District Councillor responsible for environmental matters responded:

Meanwhile, whilst there has been interest at Ministerial level
Futures Forum: Environment Secretary Owen Paterson visits Sidmouth seafront and beaches
… with a change in cabinet at Westminster, there are fears that the whole plan will be delayed even further…
