HAVE YOUR SAY! Two weeks left to go to contribute
A couple of weeks ago, the consultants for the Port Royal Scoping Study put their proposals on show:

The Town Council is clear that the designs are not a ‘fait-a-compli’ – but a starting point:
Scoping Study consultation > “It’s a starting point that looks at the practicalities.”
Nevertheless, there has been a lot of very critical reaction to these proposed designs:
“Is Sidmouth to become simply a ghetto for the super-rich and a cash-cow for the Council? “
Scoping Study consultation >> “What is the purpose of this extra capacity?”
Scoping Study consultation >> “a stitch-up”
Scoping Study consultation > the Charity Commission and potential conflicts of interest
Scoping Study consultation > strong views on eastern town proposals
Scoping Study consultation > ‘calling a spade a bloody shovel’
Scoping Study consultation > ‘this is not what we expected’
And there have been other reports done:
Scoping Study consultation > Vision Group report 2012
Scoping Study consultation > a full analysis and a proper alternative scoping study
Scoping Study consultation > an overview of the maps and the options
Meanwhile, here is an interesting reminder of what this part of town looked like a century ago:
