The eastern end of the Esplanade has been a subject of discussion for at least 150 years, this is the area we now refer to as Port Royal.
Since 2000 we have entered what may be seen as the modern age of considerations and so this archive starts with the oringinal VGS report which had its beginning in 2005.
The most up to date project started in 2017 with the Sidmouth Town Council and the East Devon District Council commissioning a Scoping Exercise to look at the opportunity Port Royal presents. All the information from that time onwards can be found here in the Subjects Library.
