  • by JW

How much of a carbon footprint does cycling create?

.This very informative piece is from The European Cyclists Federation website, courtesy of a correspondent:

how much CO2 does cycling really save?

.

In other words, for the Sidmouth to Sidbury route, return 11km, the carbon footprint is one twentieth less if you ride your bike:

Bike Carbon footprint (depending on breakfast) 32g x 11km = 350g (ie 350ppm)

Car Carbon footprint, or total CO2 emissions, 584g x 11km = 6,424g (ie 6.4KG+pollution)

.
