Q. When was the OBC produced? If it is the same time as the appendices then it is seriously out of date.

Q. The OBC appears to be 4 years old so can the assumptions made hold true and be checked against reality?
A. The projected 1 in 1 sea flooding from 2017 onwards has not occurred.
Q. Why are we protecting the town? It would be possible to abandon the lower parts and rebuild further up the hills. The multicoloured handbook says that a restaurant or shop shouldn’t be saved if there are ones in nearby towns that could serve the need. This isn’t true when it is a Heritage Asset which is irreplaceable and a National Loss.
A. Because the residents want it and because ‘do nothing’ would damage the rep of EDDC and EA (appendix C Appraisal summary table)
On the other hand in appendix F there is this chart (which is out of date.) So is it spend 13 million to save nearly 138 million?
There seems to be something wrong with this calculation!!!! Do something damage should be minus £13, 815,082?
Q. What is the point in protecting the town if the economy collapses? Is it to protect the historic buildings? Economic collapse brings huge costs for the EDDC.

A. There is no evidence in the OBC. The Options and the modelling done of the Preferred Option are there in detail but then the splash wall suddenly appears with no background.

A. There is a formula in FCERM to calculate and discount future costs ( I’m not sure their thinking is sound though, perhaps I misunderstand), as far as I can see it can not be ring fenced.
Q. If we can get rid of future maintenance costs would we be able to spend more now, or is the funding only because we will need maintenance?
