“If every adult spent £5 a week locally it would pump £1.8m a year into the Axminster economy.”

.

Next month, the Totally Locally group, which pushes for more spending on the local economy, is doing its Fiver Fest:

.

The Totally Locally Fiver Fest is a big celebration of Britain’s fantastic small businesses and shops, many run by families or individuals, but ALL contributing massively to the economy of the UK and the wellbeing of our towns.

THE LAST NATIONAL FIVER FEST (FEBRUARY 2020) SAW OVER 100 TOWNS & THOUSANDS OF INDEPENDENT SHOPS AND BUSINESSES JOINING IN.

We had absolutely loads of media coverage, and the reports of big sales, and new customers rediscovering their High Streets was huge.

TOTALLY LOCALLY FIVER FEST – Totally Locally

.

As reported in the Midweek Herald – it’s happening in Axminster:

.

Axminster is one of dozens of towns across the country joining the latest high profile national campaign, which will run from 10 to 24 October.

The local organising team is hoping for a string of good value offers to drive home the key message that if every adult spent £5 a week locally that they would otherwise have spent online or with national stores it would pump £1.8m a year into the Axminster economy.
