Inspiring ‘community supported agriculture’ projects at work

“… run for and supported by the local community.”

.

During 2020, there was huge interest in ‘community supported agriculture’: Community Supported Agriculture in East Devon – Vision Group for Sidmouth

“Community supported agriculture (CSA) is a partnership between farmers and consumers in which the responsibilities, risks and rewards of farming are shared.” https://communitysupportedagriculture.org.uk

The interest has levelled off – but Sidmouth now has collection points for local CSA projects – both on Friday: How to Order – Fresh and Green and Collection Points – In My Back Yard

The regular farming spot on the radio this weekend took us to a pioneering community supported agriculture project – which is featured on the CSA website above: On Your Farm – Caerhys Organic Farm – BBC Sounds

“Caerhys Organic Community Agriculture (COCA) is an agricultural scheme run for and supported by the local community. COCA members share delicious organic food grown in partnership with local farmers. Watch the video to hear from Gerald Miles, the owner of Caerhys farm”: About Us – COCA
