2016 VGS final comment on Knowle Planning Application

Midday on Wednesday 15th June is the deadline for comments from the public on the latest planning application

with reference to:

16/0872/MFUL | The construction of an assisted living community for older people comprising extra care units, staff accommodation and communal facilities, including a kitchen, restaurant/bar/cafe, a well-being suite comprising gym, treatment rooms and pool, a communal lounge and storage facilities; car parking for residents, visitors and staff of the assisted living community; comprehensive landscaping comprising communal and private spaces; and associated groundworks. | Council Offices Knowle Sidmouth EX10 8HL

The Town Council has considered the latest planning application – and rejected it unanimously:

Futures Forum: Knowle relocation project >>> Town Council comment on application 16/0872/MFUL >>> “contrary to Local Plan” ….. “intrusive and out-of-keeping” ….. “overdevelopment” ….. “no affordable housing”

The Futures Forum of the Vision Group has already put together a provisional comment on the application.

This refers to the reasons the District Council’s planning committee put forward when it rejected a similar planning application in 2013:
