Storm Ciarán in Sidmouth

Last weekend, Sidmouth was being splashed across the national news with the story that Storm Ciarán had swept a car into the sea by surging waves – or so the media says…

Beyond that particular incident, Sky News had video footage of the Storm Ciaran sea surge at Sidmouth – taken from the camera at the Lifeboat Station.

Much more impressive is the Video taken by Kyle Baker Photography at 9.30 am on Thursday 2nd November: note the wave height up the cliffs on East Beach.

There have been no major storms this year until the end of October; storm Ciaran hit on the evening of 1st of November and swiftly followed the previous named storm which had had little effect on Sidmouth.
