What needs to be done to get a Blue Flag award for Sidmouth’s beaches

Last month, the Herald reported on awards given to East Devon’s beaches:

Swimming spots in Devon and Cornwall to undergo water testing to ensure high standard is met

Sidmouth handed prestigious award celebrating cleanliness of its beach

And the VGS duly reported that Sidmouth did not actually get the most ‘prestigious award’:
