There are some imaginative ‘solutions to our housing crisis’ – including:

  • tiny homes made from corrugated hemp cladding panels, cork insulation and natural rubber linoleum floor tiles
  • building in low-carbon building materials including biomaterials such as  timber, hemp, cork and mycelium
  • growing your own house from the likes of hemp, which is fast-growing and better than commercial forestry at sequestering carbon – and its long tap roots help to regenerate the soil
  • and looking to a general renaissance of hemp architecture, so we can look toward a greener future in which the built environment harmoniously coexists with the natural world.
