There has been a huge amount of comment on the proposed changes to the current street trading policy for Sidmouth – with the VGS contribution here: Do we want street trading in Sidmouth? – Vision Group for Sidmouth
It is not clear how the impetus for yet another review of ‘consent streets’ has emerged. The previous administration, after all, listened to residents in 2017 the last time the idea of ‘bringing Sidmouth into line’ with the rest of the District was raised – and decided to keep the status quo: EDDC street-trading – VGS submission – notes – 25feb23

And one of the suggestions is for a monthly farmers’ market – which used to be a regular feature until the pandemic: Futures Forum: Sidmouth Farmers’ Market: Saturday 9th March
And which need not threaten established businesses or be a thing for ‘posh people’ only: Futures Forum: Save our High Streets: with food shops
