Last month, the Graham Cooper: ‘Visual Music’ exhibition of extraordinary paintings were on show:
“In several extraordinary works, he explores musical notation, linking it to colour-spectrum theory. Graham has created over a thousand paintings depicting various chords in different tunes on canvas, and the exhibition shows the most thrilling examples of turning music into colour.”
With the Herald also reporting on artist Graham Cooper showcasing his work at Kennaway House.
Graham has now moved his pieces to the Dissenter Rooms of the Unitarian Church in Sidmouth, opposite the hospital – which can be observed when the rooms are open for meetings, events and classes.

Refreshing the walls at the old meeting room and other Dissenter rooms, Visual Music is on loan to Dissenter of Sidmouth. The installation of “Visual Music” features a series of oil paintings by Graham Cooper produced over the last decade. Linking musical notation to the colourspectrum theory he has made over a thousand paintings depicting various chords and a selection of songs. The Visual Music display at Dissenter, is made up of over 200 individual canvases and each composition is organised in various configurations.
