Sid Valley Help is a local charity that provides information on health and social care support services in the Sid Valley – see the Information page or contact us. During the coronavirus outbreak we are working with Sidmouth Town Council and other local organisations to provide information and support.

They have liaised with other voluntary groups, charities and referring agencies to identify gaps in support and referral priorities and have recruited 72 volunteers for active community support and 18 telephone befrienders:

Sid Valley HELP has set up a scheme covering the Sid Valley and Newton Poppleford to recruit volunteers and match volunteers to requests. Typical requests are for help with shopping, medicine collection, dog walking and for telephone befriending. This scheme is to ensure that nobody is without support if they need it and is in addition to the many person-to-person and street-level support groups that have sprung up
