This book is an invitation to explore Sidmouth’s wonderful collection of trees and large shrubs – the country’s first Civic Arboretum – from your armchair, or on a walk around the town. It introduces some of the significant woody residents of our favoured valley, where to find them, what to look out for, where they come from originally, and the fascinating stories of how they came to be here.
