On 24th April EDDC made a push to get Utility Companies to give money for the BMP, as reported in the Sidmouth Herald.
In last Friday’s Herald Online they printed the response from SWW which basically said, our facilities are already protected, but we’ll chat with the Environment Agency and EDDC if they want, just in case there have been changes we are not aware of.
So yet another ineffective idea from the old EDDC, just like putting a box up to collect donations. No-one denies we need to get money from somewhere but just deciding that ‘someone else’ can pay for it doesn’t seem to be working very well. Perhaps we need to write to the House of Lords who seem to be keen to help Seaside Towns? Report available here
