Net Zero Home School: webinar series

  • by JW

… aims to empower Generation Net Zero with a deeper understanding of what Net Zero means, and what it will take to achieve it, both for the UK and the world.

.

It’s now a year since the UK committed to ‘zero carbon’:

UK becomes first major economy to pass net zero emissions law – GOV.UK

Target to cut greenhouse gases to zero by 2050 signed into law – ITV News

.

Exactly what that means is not absolutely clear:

Get Net-Zero Done – Vision Group for Sidmouth

Carbon offsetting and carbon credits – Vision Group for Sidmouth

What exactly is ‘net-zero carbon’? – Vision Group for Sidmouth

.

Meanwhile, local authorities are also committing themselves:

District Council: towards zero carbon development – Vision Group for Sidmouth

County Council sets up the Net Zero Task Force to develop its carbon plan – Vision Group for Sidmouth

.

Next week, there’ll be a series of webinars to help us understand better what it’s all about:

We are coming up to the first anniversary of the date the UK passed laws to end its contribution to global warming by 2050. See the attachment for details of the Net Zero Home School series of webinars that will take place in the week of 22-26 June, Their aim is to empower Generation Net Zero with a deeper understanding of what Net Zero means and what it will take to achieve it. It’s not a series of debates, but rather an attempt to inform and educate anyone and everyone who is interested. It’s been organised by Oxford Climate Research Network (OCRN ), Oxford Climate Society (OCS), Net Zero Network and ClimateWorks foundation.
