.

It’s now three months to go before the government’s big event on what we can do to mitigate climate change:

COP26: 100 days to go – Vision Group for Sidmouth

And to help push the agenda, the government have launched a campaign to find ‘climate leaders’:

Nationwide search for climate leaders launched – GOV.UK

As reported from Annandale in Galloway:

Toby McCartney, who is one of the co-founders of Lockerbie plastic roads firm MacRebur, is among the first 13 ambassadors to be announced. They will be encouraging the country to follow their green footsteps and play their part in tackling climate change…

The search is now on for another 13 individuals to join them at COP26 in Glasgow in November, to mark the 26th climate summit and to share their stories. Nominations are being sought from communities of everyday climate leaders who symbolise the best in UK climate leadership and whose stories will be showcased at the crucial summit in November.

With more on the project from the Energy Live website:

With less than 100 days to go for the climate change summit, the government is calling on people to join the ‘One Step Greener’ movement on social media by sharing how they are playing their part in saving the environment, championing climate leaders in their communities and inspiring others to follow their lead.

People will also be able to nominate those in their communities who they believe are making a big difference in the fight against climate change and have the chance to become ‘One Step Greener’ Ambassadors and showcase their stories at COP26.
